Less than 2500 miles since engine rebuild and restoration
I bought this car in Concord, NC in July 2003 knowing it needed an engine rebuild. Oil
consumption was very high, and power was way down. I pulled the engine and took it to
LaValle’s Import Restoration in Oak Ridge, NC, a shop that specializes in the restoration
and service of 2002's and other vintage German cars. This is when I disassembled the car
in preparation for it to be taken down to bare metal and repainted at Eargle’s Body Shop
in Columbia, SC. I finished reassembling the car and finally got it back on the road in
January 2006. If you were at Vintage at the Vineyards in 2006, you may have seen it, and
it can be seen in the background of the picture on page 81 of the August 2006 Roundel.
I've tried to be as thorough as possible in my description of the car and in the
pictures I've taken. The car is located in Columbia, SC. If there is anything that I've
left out, don't hesitate to ask.
